Voted Chicago Reader's album of the year, Pinksqueeze's "Be Gay Have Fun" is finally available on vinyl. Mastered for analog by Simon Small at Tunnel of Reverb and pressed locally at Smashed Plastic on 160gram Vinyl with a full-color gatefold sleeve and lyric insert, "Be Gay Have Fun" was crafted and conceived entirely in Chicago.

Be Gay Have Fun! is an unabashed, genuine, and giddy exploration of queer joy, community and identity, healing the inner child, and mental health. The 13 track album is bookended with interludes that call to mind the live experience of a “Pinksqueeze Party.”  As anticipated, this album features several songs directly embodying the queer experience including Straight Girl Crush, Queer for Clout, and She Sees. The band states, they wanted to “make music that touches on queer identity but also feels good and happy, like a celebration.”  Tracks including I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Couch to 5K, Summer in Chicago, Rainbow Hour and Midday Midnight all explore mental health, while tracks Holy Critter and When We Were Kids focus on healing the inner child, reconciling with religious trauma, and finding connection in queer community.  The album also includes a fun messy track titled WTF is Bubble Grunge, a riot grrrl anthem with the most direct critique of gender and genre out there.  Pulling from punk, emo, indie, grunge and folk influences, this album captures the unique Pinksqueeze sound with something for everyone.
